Corinne E. Janecke, age 98, of Adams, Minnesota, formerly of Austin, Minnesota, passed away on Saturday, October 15, 2022, at Cedar Court Assisted Living in Adams, Minnesota. Corinne Elizabeth Franklin was born in Minneapolis, Minnesota, the daughter of Emmanuel and Adla (Dahl) Franklin on February 4, 1924. She graduated from Minnehaha Academy and went on to earn her teaching degree. Following teachers college, she taught for one year. She then continued her education at the University of Wyoming earning her bachelor’s degree. Corinne was united in marriage to Hugo Freed on October 9, 1948, in Layfette, Indiana and together had six children. While raising her children, Corinne cooked for fraternities. She loved her role as homemaker, wife, and mother. Hugo passed away on July 22, 1973. She then married Arnold Janecke on October 24, 1977, in Laramie, Wyoming. While living in Laramie, she worked as a home extension agent in Albany County, Wyoming. Corinne and Arnold made their home in St. Paul. Arnold passed away on April 24, 1985. Corinne loved kids, reading, and enjoyed watching TV and movies. She was involved in many home improvement projects; her husband, Hugo built the house they raised their family in. Corinne felt she could tackle any project and was an “I can do person.” She was a tremendous woman of faith and prayer with an intimate relationship with Christ. She regularly attended Faith Evangelical Free Church. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Survivors include her children, David (Vivian) Freed of Grandview, Missouri, Mark (Carol) Freed of Coon Rapids, Minnesota; Susan (Matthew) Heck of Mebane, North Carolina; Holly (Mike) Sager of Austin, Minnesota, Dan (Sheila) Freed of Sioux Falls, South Dakota; 11 grandchildren, James Freed, Angela Labrecque, Joy Walker, Erik Freed, Jaime Freed, Steve Sager, Calvin Freed, Kristie Pineda, Luke Sager, Will Brown, and Karl Freed; nine great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Emmanuel and Adla Franklin; first husband, Hugo Freed; second husband, Arnold Janecke; daughter, Christine; two brothers; and one sister.
