Clifford Gorman, 88, of Austin, a loving husband, father and grandfather died Monday, September 10, 2012 at St. Mary's Hospital surrounded by his loving family. A funeral mass will becelebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, September 14 at St. Augustine Catholic Church with Father James Steffes, Father Charles Quinn and Father Paul Nelson officiating. Interment will be at Calvary Cemetery with military honors provided by the American Legion. There will be a 9:30 Rosary at St. Augustine Church on Friday. Visitation will be one hour prior to service time at the church. In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to St. Augustine Church. Mr. Gorman was born May 22, 1924 in Wagner, South Dakota to Alice and Frank Gorman. On October 17, 1946 he was married to his sweetheart, Darlene Richardson at St. Augustine Catholic Church. She preceded him in death on October 17, 1993. Mr. Gorman worked for Hormel in Austin for forty-one years. Mr. Gorman served in Company E, 161st Infantry Regiment of the US Army during WWII. Mr. Gorman is survived by his children, son Patrick Gorman, Austin; four daughters and sons-in-law; Mary Gorman, Austin; Ann and Terry Flicek, Beloit, Wisconsin; Amy Fischer, Ellsworth, Wisconsin; Lisa and Duane Krones, Osage, Iowa; grandchildren: Katie and Nicholas Blaskey, Custer, Wisconsin, Theresa and Derek Coleman, Beloit, Wisconsin, Alicia Krones, Iowa City, Iowa, Samantha Krones, Des Moines, Iowa, Matthew Fischer, Ellsworth, Wisconsin, Tiffany Fischer, White Bear Lake, Minnesota, great grandchildren, Ryan and Casey Blaskey and Ashlyn Coleman, sister Lola Brantley, San Diego, California and many nieces and nephews. He was also preceded in death by his parents, brother Raymond and sisters Gladys and Arlene. Mayer Funeral Home of Austin, Minnesota is in charge of arrangements.
