Clarence Wilfred Henderson, age 91, of Austin, passed away in peace on Wednesday, March 29, 2017, after a long battle with Alzheimers. Clarence, fondly known as Klink, was born January 12, 1926 in Rice Lake, Wisconsin to Nels and Helena (Nelson) Henderson, the youngest of six children. On February 14, 1970 he married Darlene Ann Chrz in Northwood, Iowa. Clarence served in the United States Navy from 1944 to 1946. After an honorable discharge he moved to Cumberland, Wisconsin and started work at the Ford Motor Company in the parts department and Dry-Bak. He also worked as a volunteer fireman, EMT at Cumberland Utilities, and a Maintenance Technician at the Cumberland Hospital. Clarence enjoyed a variety of hobbies including woodworking, bowling, golfing, fishing, hunting, going to the races, watching football, crosswords, and reading. There wasn’t an arts and crafts he couldn’t master. Survivors include his wife, Darlene; daughter, Vonnie (Carroll); son, Craig (Cheryl); son, Randy (Deb); son, Mike (Kristen); daughter, Michelle (Steve); many nieces, nephews, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents; two sisters; one brother; his first wife, Mabel (Youngberg) Henderson; his daughter, Patricia (Henderson) Sebens. Arrangements have been entrusted to Mayer Funeral Home in Austin. Per Clarence’s request, there will be no funeral or memorial service. Condolences may be left online at www.mayerfh.com
