Charleen Louise Reed

Charleen Louise Reed, age 84, of Austin, Minnesota, passed away on Monday, April 21, 2025, at Mayo Clinic Health System Austin. Charleen was born on December 21, 1940, the daughter of Harold and Edith (Cox) Pike in Austin, Minnesota. She graduated from Austin High School. Charleen was united in marriage to Richard Reed in Bellfouche, South Dakota, on September 20, 1982. Charleen worked for Mower County Human Services for 18 years and retired in 1988. She was a member of St. Augustine Catholic Church. Charleen enjoyed crocheting, sewing and reading. She loved to travel, especially with Richard on their houseboat.

Survivors include her husband, Richard Reed of Austin; sons, Donald Schocker of Austin, and David Schocker of Moundsview; son-in-law, Dan Wessels; seven grandchildren, Shannon, Dana, Steve Jr., Erik, Joshua, McKenzie, and Matthew; thirteen great-grandchildren; four great-great grandchildren; brother, Clayton (Carol) Pike; sisters, Joanne Maxfield, Violet Henderson, and Lois Bushlack; many nieces, nephews, and family. Charleen was preceded in death by her parents, Harold and Edith Pike; daughter, Wendy Wessels; daughter-in-law Christine Schocker; siblings, Raymond Pike, Glenn Pike, Dean Pike, Donna Karlsgodt, Delma Wade, Don Pike, Edith Zabel, and Ethel Lawson.

The funeral service for Charleen will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, April 25, 2025, at Worlein-Hoff Funeral Home in Austin. The visitation will take place one hour prior to the service at the funeral home on Friday. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery, Austin. Worlein-Hoff Funeral Homes of Austin are assisting the family with arrangements.
