Carolyn Haubenschild

Carolyn A. Haubenschild, age 78 of Blooming Prairie, Minnesota, passed away peacefully Saturday evening, March 23, 2019 at Homestead Hospice House in Owatonna surrounded by her loving family. Carolyn was born on January 4, 1941, in Albert Lea Minnesota, to Arthur and Crystal Andersen. She graduated from Blooming Prairie High School in 1959. On June 27, 1959 Carolyn married Paul Haubenschield at the Litomysl Cathoic Church. To this union three children were born; Carol, Michael and James.  Over the next 47 years, she repaired class rings at Jostens in Owatonna. Carolyn was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in rural Blooming Prairie. She loved horseback riding and especially enjoyed her horseback riding trips in the Black Hills. She enjoyed camping, traveling, attending auctions, was a dedicated Meals on Wheels volunteer and loved tending her garden. Carolyn will always be remembered as a welcoming, caring and loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.

Survivors include her loving husband, Paul Haubenschild of Blooming Prairie, MN, a daughter, Carol (Cecil Boyd) Simon of Hope, MN, two sons; Michael (Peg) Haubenschild of Austin, MN and James (Kim Stollard) of Blooming Prairie, MN; 6 grandchildren; Annie, Adam, Amanda, Derek, Rebecca and Brandon, and 8 great grandchildren;  a sister, Crystal Joan Sellers of Blooming Prairie, MN and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.  She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother Jens Andersen.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, March 28, 2019 at First Lutheran Church in Blooming Prairie. Visitation will be held from 4:00-7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 27, at Worlein Blooming Prairie Funeral Home and will continue for one hour prior to the service at the church on Thursday. Interment will be in Union Cemetery near Bixby. Memorials can be directed to Aurora Lutheran Church or the Steele County Humane Society. Worlein Funeral Home of Blooming Prairie is assisting the family with arrangements.
