Carol Ann Berge

Carol Ann Berge, age 82, of Austin, Minnesota, passed away on Friday, February 14, 2025, at her home in Austin. Carol was born on April 8, 1942, to Fred and Genevieve (Blonigan) Frein in Austin, Minnesota. She attended St. Augustine Grade School and later attended Pacelli High School in Austin. In 1962 she married Joe Freese, and the couple had two children, they later divorced. On July 8, 1972, she married Harold Berge and later divorced. She was a member of St. Augustine Catholic Church. Carol loved to eat sweets, some of her favorite being ice cream and pie and loved a good drink. She loved shopping and listening to Elvis and Johnny Cash style music. She enjoyed spending time with her family and cherished visits from her daughter. She will be dearly missed.

Carol is survived by her daughter, Bonnie Lou (James) Becvar of Hayfield; grandsons, Tyler Becvar of Hayfield and Tanner Becvar of Hayfield; brother, Harold Frein of Clear Lake, Iowa; many cousins and other relatives. She was preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Genevieve Frein; stillborn daughter, Christy Lou Freese; grandson, Timothy Jon Becvar; and brother, Jim Frein.

A memorial service for Carol will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Monday, February 24, 2025, at Worlein-Hoff Funeral Home in Austin. The visitation will take place one hour prior to the service on Monday. Interment will be held at a later date in Grandview Cemetery, Austin. The family wants to extend a heartfelt thank you for the dedicated care that Carol received while at Foxridge, Cardinal in Rochester and EON Group Home in Austin. Worlein-Hoff Funeral Homes of Austin are assisting the family with arrangements.
