Carl Frank Jech, age 85, of Austin, Minnesota, passed away on Wednesday, November 27, 2024, at Good Samaritan Society – Albert Lea, Minnesota. Carl was born on May 22, 1939, to Martin and Marie (Wulf) Jech in Elkton, Minnesota. He attended school in Elkton and graduated in 1957. Following high school, Carl enlisted in the United States Army in February of 1958 and proudly served his country until his honorable discharge in November of 1960. He began his career with Austin Rusco in 1964 and became the owner of the company in 1968, a position he held until his retirement in 2001. Carl married Diane Frederick in 1961 and together had two children. Diane passed away in 1968. Carl then was united in marriage to Rosalee Erickson on January 24, 1970, at Grace Lutheran Church in Austin. He was a member of the American Legion Post 91, the Eagles Club, past member of the Moose Club, past member of the Elks Club, and belonged to St. Olaf Lutheran Church where he ushered for many years. Carl enjoyed fishing, woodworking, golfing, spending time with family, and especially loved being a grandpa.
Survivors include his wife, Rosalee Jech of Austin, MN; children, Lori (Greg) Pfeifer of Austin, MN, Randy (Rochelle) Jech of Austin, MN, Dean (Anne) Adams of Austin, MN, and Dale (Renee Waller) Adams of Brownsdale, MN; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; family dog Sadie; siblings, Lorenz (Dixie) Jech of Dexter, MN, Lois (Ray) Nelson of Red Wing, MN, and Darlene (Greg) Walburn of Rochester, MN; siblings-in-law, Ed (Ardith) Erickson of Fort Walton Beach, Florida, Jerri Blaser of Austin, and Linnea (Keith) Burtch of Austin. He was preceded in death by his parents, Martin and Marie Jech; and first wife, Diane; brother-in-law, Cliff Blaser; nephew, Steve Blaser and Terry Blaser.
A funeral service for Carl will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, December 4, 2024, at St. Olaf Lutheran Church in Austin. The visitation will take place from 9:30-11:00 a.m. prior to the service. Interment will be in Grandview Cemetery, Austin. A reception will follow at the Eagles Club of Austin, 107 11th St. NE., Austin, MN 55912. Memorials are preferred to St. John’s Lutheran Church in Elkton or St. Olaf Lutheran Church in Austin. Worlein-Hoff Funeral Homes are assisting the family with arrangements.
