Bonnie Lou Wright

Bonnie Lou Wright, age 68, of Canton, Minnesota, passed away on Wednesday, August 28, 2024, at Mayo Clinic Health System Austin. Bonnie was born in Albert Lea, Minnesota, on November 20, 1955, to Mary Elizabeth (Moran) Simbeck and Thomas Joseph Simbeck. She grew up and attended school in Albert Lea, Minnesota, before moving to Lead, South Dakota, where she continued her education. She later went on to unite in marriage with Ralph Victor Bunch while in Lead, South Dakota, and was blessed with two children, Cindy Lou (Bunch) Cass and Michael John Bunch. After her marriage to Ralph was dissolved, she met and united in marriage to Harold Lloyd Kidder. Bonnie and Harold were blessed with two children, Billie Jo (Kidder) Rose and Bobbie Jo Kidder. After Harold’s passing, she met and united in marriage to the love of her life, Eugene Charles Wright, in Hulett, Wyoming, on June 19, 2005. They were happily married for 19 years before her passing. 

She was an avid animal lover and had many pets over her lifetime, from dogs and cats to birds, hamsters, and even a flying squirrel. As a child, she was known to bring home animals, whom she felt needed love and care while walking home from school. She loved animals so much that she opened her own pet store, Pets Plus, in Central City, South Dakota, with her aunt, Edna Moran. When Bonnie came across an animal in need, she was always called to give all her love and attention to care for the animal.

Bonnie is survived by her husband, Eugene Charles Wright; her children, Cindy Lou Cass (Bunch), Michael John Bunch and his wife Claudia Ann (Cisneros) Bunch, Billie Jo (Kidder) Rose and her husband Clay Rose, and Bobbie Jo Kidder; her grandchildren, Brett Anthony Cass, Christina Marie Card and her husband John David Ebert-Card, Zachary Lynn Thomas Cass, Taylor Makenzie Bunch, Thorne Mykel Bunch, Christiana Rose, Britnee Marie Freestad, Zoey Renee Phillips, Ashantie Lynn Doud, and Jaxson Teller Olson; her great-grandchildren, Mary Jane Rose, Elijah J. Rose, John Craig Card, Carter Gene Rose, and Mazikeen Marie Runsagainst; her siblings, James “Butch” Thomas Simbeck, Debra (Deb) Kay (Simbeck) Lee, Diane Rae Simbeck, and Brenda (Simbeck) James; and her pets, including her dogs, Buddy and Hugo, and cats, Minnie, Mouse, and Jack. She was preceded in death by her parents, Mary Elizabeth (Moran) Simbeck and Thomas Joseph Simbeck; her former husband, Harold Lloyd Kidder; and her great-niece, Samantha McKenzie Havenner. 

To honor Bonnie’s wishes, the family will hold a private celebration of life at a later date. Worlein-Hoff Funeral Homes are assisting the family with arrangements.
