Becky Jo (Ahles) Anderson (64) of Austin, MN passed away peacefully at Mayo Clinic Health System-Austin after a courageous battle of cancer on June 17, 2020. She was born in Austin, MN to Jerome and Cleo (Hansen) Ahles on September 30, 1955. She married Dale M. Anderson on January 25, 1975 and together they raised their two daughters, Billie and Teri.
Becky worked as a fry cook for over 40 years. She was known to the community as the overnight cook at Watts Cookin’ before retiring in 2015. Her imagination was so creative while planning her famous Halloween parties that neighborhood children looked forward to every year. There is nothing Becky enjoyed more than spending her time with family and friends. Many years were spent at the lake enjoying barbeques, fish frys and boat rides. She had a love for gambling, but an even bigger love for her grandchildren. She loved taking them swimming at many waterparks and having nice quiet picnics in the park. She had a passion in her heart for wildlife, especially her squirrels. She even raised one from a pup and was able to feed him right from her hand.
She is survived by her husband, Dale M. Anderson of Austin; daughters, Billie (Chris) Sell of Mankato, and Teri (Dillan) Erickson of Austin; sister, Toni Granle of Austin; three grandchildren, Izaac, Damien and Adalind. She was preceded in death by her parents, Jerome and Cleo Ahles; brother, Jerome Ahles; father-in-law, Myron Anderson; and mother-in-law, Alvina Anderson.
A celebration of life will be held on July 18, 2020 at Dale and Becky’s home from 3:00-6:00 pm. Worlein Funeral Home of Austin is assisting the family with arrangements.
