Aurelia Guiney

Aurelia Dorothea Guiney, 87, of Austin died on April 9, 2015 at her home with family by her side. Aurelia was born on January 8, 1928 in Austin to Laurence J. Laudet and Dorothea (Tennessen) Laudet. She graduated from St. Augustine High School in 1946 and attended the College of St. Teresa in Winona. She worked as Office Manager at J.C. Penney for ten years. On October 15, 1956 she married Francis Guiney at St. Augustine Church in Austin. She was a devoted and loving mother, leading by example and by her faith. She is survived by her children: Mary Frances Guiney, Austin; Daniel Guiney, Thailand; Dorothea (Steven Chin) Guiney, Minneapolis; Ellen (Richard) Copley, St. Louis Park; Joseph (Margaret) Guiney, Minneapolis; Maureen (Scott) Freberg, St. Paul; Timothy (Rosemary) Guiney, Two Harbors; and Patrick (Danna) Guiney, Austin; grandchildren: Emily, Molly and Annie Guiney; Elias, Thomas, Tess and Clarise Freberg; Tobin and Tristan Chin; Aidan and Rowan Guiney; and Lexi, Landon and Layton Guiney. She was preceded in death by her husband and parents. Visitation will be held Friday from 6:30 to 9 p.m. at Mayer Funeral Home, with the rosary at 7:30 p.m. There will also be visitation at 9 a.m. Saturday at Mayer Funeral Home. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 18th at Queen of Angels Catholic Church, with Fr. Dale Tupper officiating. Interment will follow the service at Calvary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the donor’s choice.
