Arlene Sandra Coleman

Arlene S. Coleman, age 72, of Brownsdale, Minnesota, passed away on Sunday, December 3, 2023, at the Legacy of Brownsdale. Arlene Sandra Christenson was born on November 24, 1951, in Austin, Minnesota, to Ralph and Lillian (Waller) Christenson. She graduated from Austin High School in 1970. Following graduation Arlene attended cosmetology school and worked as a cosmetologist in the Austin area. She then worked as a nurse’s aide at St. Mark’s Lutheran Home in Austin for many years. Arlene loved baseball, making people laugh, and taking her nieces and nephews for ice cream. She made Christmas such a wonderful celebration for everyone, and she was the life of her family. Arlene was a giver and a good-hearted person; this was exemplified by her taking care of her parents until they died. Our family loved her so much and will miss her forever.

Arlene is survived by her siblings, LaVonne Shawback, JoAnne Price, Rosemary (Tim) Hommerding, Roger (Vicky) Christenson, Joyce Brandt, and Merlin (Gloria) Christenson; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ralph and Lillian; five infant siblings; brothers-in-law, Arthur Shawback Sr., Paul Price, Kenneth Brandt, and David Johnson; niece, Wendy Whalen; and nephew, Arthur Shawback Jr.
