Anna Miller

Anna Marie Miller age 97, of Austin died Thursday, May 3, 2018 at St. John’s Lutheran Home in Albert Lea. Anna was born May 31, 1920 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania to Joseph and Marie Starnick. She grew up in Pittsburgh and attended country school. On March 16, 1940, she was united in marriage to John Miller in Winchester, West Virginia. The couple later moved to Austin due to the flip of a coin. John was a baseball player and it was heads Austin, tails Baltimore. To this union three sons were born. Anna enjoyed many things, polka dancing, card club, fishing, baseball games and the MN twins. Survivors include her sons, Tim (Pat) Miller, Austin, Jim (Linda) Miller, Austin; three grandchildren; and three great grandchildren She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, John; son Johnny. A memorial service will be held 1:00 pm on Tuesday, May 8, 2018 at Mayer Funeral Home. Friends may call from 12-1 pm at Mayer Funeral Home on Tuesday. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery.
