Manuel Arriaga-Gonzalez, age 73 of Austin, Minnesota, passed away Tuesday, February 2, 2021, at Mayo Clinic Hospital Rochester, Saint Marys Campus. Manuel was born in the city of Zitacuaro in Mexico to his parents, Josefina Gonzalez and Manuel Arriaga. He grew up in Zamora with his siblings, and as an adult, he moved to Morelia. In between traveling from Morelia to the United States, he met the love of his life, Elvira. Together they moved permanently to the U.S. to begin a new life of opportunity, prosperity, and love. Manuel loved to spend his time watching movies, listening to music, traveling, and spending time with his family. Despite his many hardships and health issues, he always maintained a positive outlook on life and wanted to persevere and enjoy life. Manuel touched many lives through his most recent job as a Walmart greeter. He loved to socialize and joke around with anyone he came in contact with.
He is survived by his wife Elvira Arriaga "Vivi", siblings, extended family, and nieces and nephews whom he loved as his own. He was preceded in death by his parents.
The following statement is from his wife Elvira: "I give thanks to God for allowing me to cross paths with the best man and husband I could have asked for, and who I shared the best moments of my life with. I love you and you will always be in my heart, Meñito.
There will be no services held at this time. Worlein Funeral Home of Austin is assisting the family with arrangements.
