He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Kenny and Marvin Goergen, a grandson Patrick Goergen, and brother-in-law Tom Cummings.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, August 14, 2017 at St. Augustine Catholic Church in Austin with Father James Steffes officiating.  Visitation will be held from 5:00-7:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 13 at Worlein Funeral Home, and one hour prior to the service at the church on Monday.  Knights of Columbus will be at 5:00 p.m. on Sunday at Worlein Funeral Home. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery with military rites by American Legion Post 91 and V.F.W. Post 1216.  Memorials can be directed to St. Augustine Catholic Church or recipient of donor’s choice.  Worlein Funeral Home of Austin is assisting the family with arrangements.
